TOBIAS AND EDGUY HIT THE GERMAN ALBUM CHARTS
Tobias' main band EDGUY have just released their new album AGE OF THE JOKER, critically acclaimed as the "Heavy Metal album of the year" and one of the best Edguy albums of all times. We have just received information that the album has entered the German album charts at the highest position an Edguy album has ever reached. AGE OF THE JOKER went from zero to NUMBER THREE of Germany's Mediacontrol album charts. So far AGE OF THE JOKER is the most successful Edguy album of all time. AVANTASIA WACKEN SHOW LIVE ON TV ON AUGUST 6TH
On Saturday, August 6th, in front of more than 80,000 fans, Tobias Sammet and his AVANTASIA project will headline the last night of Wacken Open Air, the biggest Heavy Metal festival in the world.  Featuring guest stars such as Michael Kiske, Jorn Lande, Bob Catley, Kai Hansen and many more, the show will be broadcast live on German TV station "ZDFkultur" at 8:00 pm. This way all fans will have the chance to witness the only AVANTASIA show of the year, despite the event having been sold out for months.

AVANTASIA was founded in 1999. The musical-like all-star project of EDGUY-mastermind Tobias Sammet became the flagship of the scene and an often copied but never matched blue print for Rock Opera projects all over the world. Throughout the years AVANTASIA has featured guest stars such as ALICE COOPER, SCORPIONS‘ main men Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine, KISS‘ Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick and countless other stars from the Heavy Metal world. The latest album "The Wicked Symphony" reached the album Top 10-charts all over Europe, the current Live-DVD "The Flying Opera" rocketed straight to number one of the German, Swedish and Austrian charts!

After the Wacken performance Tobias will focus exclusively on his band EDGUY once again. Edguy's new album "AGE OF THE JOKER" will hit the stores on August 26th, followed by a world tour, kicking off in Sweden on September, 23rd.

After the successful release of the most recent Avantasia-DVD "The Flying Opera - Around the world in 20 days" (number one in the German, Austrian and Swedish charts) Avantasia-mainman Tobias Sammet has entered the studio with his main band EDGUY to record the band's 9th studio album "Age Of The Joker" (out August 26th). TOBIAS VOTED "BEST SONGWRITER 2010"
In the current issue of the Japanese Burrn magazine, one of the biggest and most prestigious Classic Heavy Metal magazines all over the world, Tobias has been voted best songwriter by the Japanese Rock fans, heading a list that features songwriting legends such as Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Slash (ex-Guns n Roses), Jon Bon Jovi and Ozzy Osbourne.

In the category "Shining Star" Tobias has reached #7 (right after superstars such as Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister (Motorhead), James Hetfield (Metallica), Jon Bon Jovi, Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) and Ronnie James Dio.

Tobias and Avantasia have also made it into the top lists of "Best Vocalist", "Best Group" and "Best Live Performance" in Japan.
